The Story Behind TUNE: We're Just Getting Started

COVID stopped us in our tracks. TUNE was an experiential wellness company that worked within hotels, corporations and an athleisure brand, so of course all of our locations were closed. As COVID rolled on, I was overwhelmed at times that my company wasn’t far enough along, stress levels in the country were going through the roof and I had a technology that could help people, yet I wasn’t large enough to do it.

I wasn’t going to let COVID stop us, so we pivoted and leaned back into experimentation with our business model. We created a home version of the technology (at the behest of the CEO of the parent company of Lululemon that requested a TUNE at home) and we created an option for wellness locations to integrate TUNE into their spaces. By 2021 Northwell Health reached out to test and study technology. Although we're not permitted to share images of this testing, it did lead to all 19 departments at NWH approving the TUNE into their hospital system. It was the first of 3 major Hospital systems reaching out, testing and approving our technology. TUNE is proven to reduce stress up to 54% in fifteen minutes, something that is so important for health care workers at this time. Getting to be part of these studies was such a humbling experience, these doctors and nurses are operating under such intense conditions that after their sessions some of them would collapse in tears into my arms thanking me. Of course, the greater amount of stress someone is experiencing, the greater amount of relief will occur after a session, but working with healthcare professionals who have just completed 6-8 months in Covid wings was a whole new level. I have never and hopefully will ever see people under more pressure than in those early hospital studies, I was so grateful to be able to contribute anything source of support.

It’s now 2023 and looking back, it’s been a wild ride and there have been many more beautiful, painful, deliriously funny things along the way. That's start up life, or maybe that's just life. There are 15 public locations between the US and Canada, we work with several corporations and hospital systems and are looking forward to a year that could be our best one yet. We are constantly finding new ways to improve and grow. The goal is still to make the best, most impactful product(s) that balance the nervous system and allow humans to thrive without the restrictions of modern day stress. To me, measuring success is pretty simple; 1) how many people are tuning, 2) what is the impact of our technology in their lives.. Human potential t is the ability to engage in the world with the fullness of unencumbered human expression, expansion and joy. Nervous system balance leads to hormonal, immune, neural and metabolism balance; it leads to a body that can communicate with itself without the compromises put upon it by modern day stress. All this, and TUNE is just getting started. I want to see thousands of TUNEs in schools, military bases, corporations and easily accessible public locations across America. I want people to have access to ease, because balance and flow is our designed state and our human right.

Stay Tuned,
